EDC Vegas ProTip #61 Wrist Wallet or Runners Waist Pack Instead of Pockets

Today’s tip is about preventing yourself from accidentally dropping things out of your pockets by using a wrist wallet or runners waist pack. Putting things in your pockets is what most people do but when you’re taking things in and out it’s way too easy to drop something and not realize it. These two things are wallets but strapped around your wrist or waist instead of in/out of pockets.

If you’re already planning on strapping on a fanny pack than you’re all set. A fanny pack isn’t for everyone though, they can be big and bulky and you may not have that much stuff to make one necessary.

A waist pack or wrist wallet for runners is a snug fit and it will have either a zipper or strong piece of velcro to keep it closed. As a runner, I prefer a waist pack that is basically a small fanny pack that expands to fit what you put in it. It will clip around your waist and you won’t even know it’s there. I’ve had mine for a few years and have run half marathons, full marathons and took it to EDC 2012 and has felt more secure than putting things into my pockets. I’ve been able to put my phone (Galazy S3), license, debit cards and cash in it with no issues.

Here’s links to see what I’m talking about and to buy one. If you have a local running store they probably sell them as well.
