EDC Vegas ProTip #54 Read the Guidelines to Know What’s Prohibited

This list is long and makes it sound like the only thing you’re allowed to bring through the gates is yourself and clothes and nothing else. Will a lot of these things make it past security? Of course. The ProTip is to be familiar with the list and know that if you try and get something past them and don’t that you knew the risks as you entered. In other words, don’t be mad if they make you throw out your stuffed animal backpack you’ve had since second grade!

I’ve already covered a couple of these things like sealed gum and sealed chap stick but one thing not yet mentioned is that packs of cigarettes need to be sealed as well. Don’t open a new pack of smokes on your way to the shuttle and then be forced to throw it in the garbage can at security.

You’ll see people get a lot of these things through but you could be one of the unlucky ones made to throw something out. Know what’s allowed and what isn’t, if you don’t there’s no one to blame besides yourself!

** This list could change at any time. There’s always exceptions made. Check out the Insomniac site and news stories closer to the festival for any changes.
