EDC Vegas ProTip #40 Bring Your Laptop to Backup Pics or Use a Cloud App

You’re going to Las Vegas and going to be taking a lot of pictures and videos on your phone for three or more days. What do you do when the memory fills up? What happens if you lose your phone the third day? Don’t risk losing all of those memories!

The best solution is to bring a laptop with you to be able to connect your phone or even digital camera every day and clear some space for the next day and night. You will record videos and they will use more storage space than you think. You’ll also want to be able to share all of this with friends back home and make them jealous of your adventures.

Another benefit to a laptop if you have one to bring is that you can provide music for your group as you have fun hanging out in the hotel room.

The down side to bringing expensive electronics? Make sure you and your friends trust who you let in your room so it doesn’t disappear!

A cloud based storage app like Dropbox may work as well if you don’t have a laptop to bring. Just make sure to find some WiFi so you don’t eat up your limited data allowance on a cell phone plan.

Now that I’ve talked about not being a photographer and then backing up your pictures and videos here you’ll also want to print them out when you get home. I think we’ve all had a laptop crash or phone die and lose a lot of memories. Go to your local store and print out pictures to make a photo album, you’ll be happy you did in about 10 years!

Side note: Sorry about some site downtime over the weekend, the hosting company had some issues.
