EDC Vegas ProTip #31 Dog Tags With Your Name and Number for Keys

What will you do if you drove to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and you lost your car keys? Pray? Call a lock smith? Search the lost and found? Rely on a spare set you brought for a friend to hold? Those are all possibilities.

Dog tags for your car keys are great not only for a festival but can’t hurt to have on them at all times in case they ever disappear. To get some dog tags just head to your local pet store and get one made with your name and phone number. Privacy could be a concern so just write, “If found call 555-555-5555.”

There’s a lot of great people around and if they’re found hope someone will call you and you can find a way to meet somewhere and get your car on the road. Insomniac will have a massive lost and found booth that will have a long line at the end of each night and this is something that can help set your keys apart. I know if I found a set and it had a number I’d call it and hopefully you’ll do the same.

A great backup plan is to bring a spare set of keys and give them to a trusted friend in case the worst happens there’ll be some keys at the end of the night. If a friend doesn’t have a spare set and your lost keys don’t turn up your last option will be a costly lock smith. They’ll be around to help you out but it’ll cost you some money to get some new keys made. Don’t let that be you spending money you’d rather be partying with!
