EDC Vegas ProTip #28 The Deuce Bus on the Strip is Slow

The Deuce is a city bus that runs down the Las Vegas strip from the Fremont Street Experience all the way down to the Town Square Mall with stops at every major casino. The buses run 24 hours a day with buses approximately every 15 minutes from 7AM to 2AM and every 20 minutes from 2AM to 7AM. The buses are air conditioned with great views from the top and will also give you a lot of entertainment people watching. They’re also cheap, it’s $6 for a two hour pass or $8 for a 24 hour pass. If you’re going to be bouncing around to a lot of different places this could be a good option.

The down side to the buses are that they can be slow. Very slow. You may find that it could be quicker to walk from place to place. It all depends on traffic down the strip which can often be stop and go. Even though they are slow your feet could be tired from walking and the rest back to your casino may make the 24 hour pass well worth it.

When you are in a rush to get from a pool party back to your hotel to get ready to head to the festival I would not recommend relying on the Deuce bus. That will be at the busiest time on the strip and you’ll be anxious sitting in a bus hoping it would hurry up. Depending on how many people are in your group just cough up some cash and take a cab. Recommend to the driver that he takes the back roads so it’ll be quicker. You may pay a couple dollars more but it’s worth saving the time.

It’s a cheap method of transportation that may look appealing but remember it’s not the fastest. Click here for a map of the stops.

There’s also an express service that is supposedly faster than the Deuce, more info here and a map here.

With either service I’d still be cautious if you’re in a hurry to get somewhere and take a cab instead even if it costs more!
