EDC Vegas ProTip #20 Plan Your Money, Save Money for the Trip Home

The moment you land in Las Vegas there’ll be temptations everywhere to start spending money. You’ll see slot machines in the airport. There’ll be gift shops, bars and then you’ll have to spend money for the first time taking an airport shuttle to the hotel. It’ll only get worst once you’re on the Las Vegas strip so make sure to plan how much money you can spend on a daily basis so that you don’t run out.

There’ll be the obvious things that you’ll spend money on like eating food and buying drinks. The best thing you can do would be to figure out how much money you have to spend and set a daily budget and stick to it. Don’t be sucked into the temptations of going to a pool party at the last minute and spending $100 on a ticket and $150 on drinks and suddenly out of cash. Assuming you’re sharing a room with people you trust and you’re carrying cash leave it in your room so that you don’t spend it all or even worst lose it.

You’ll also want to make sure to save some money for the return trip home. If you’re driving you’ll want to make sure you have enough money left over for gas so that you don’t get stranded anywhere. For those flying you’re plane ticket is already paid for but even if you haven’t eaten for a few  days it’ll probably all catch up to you and you’ll be hungry waiting in the airport or need something other than water to drink.

Another tip is to stash some emergency money just in case anything happens to the rest. Put a $20 bill under the battery compartment of your phone or in each pocket of a different pair of pants you’ll be wearing. Maybe even attach it to your plane ticket home so that it doesn’t get spent elsewhere.

Don’t be that person who is irresponsible and blows every penny you have and end up getting stuck trying to borrow money from a friend!
