EDC Vegas ProTip #19 Getting from the Airport to the Hotel

Anyone who has been to Las Vegas before probably won’t need this tip or it could be a simple refresher. It’s very easy to get to your hotel from the airport and then back to the airport when you need to get home, almost too easy.

The three most likely options are either an airport shuttle, taxi or rental car.

A taxi cab is the fastest option but not necessarily the cheapest, it all depends on your group and where you are staying. To get an estimate on how much a cab will cost visit http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=LV for a general idea. Don’t forget to factor in a tip!

The most convenient option that a majority of travelers choose is one of the shuttle services that run from the airport to all of the hotels on the strip, off the strip and the downtown hotels. As long as you’re not in a hurry these will give you your first glimpse of Las Vegas and you’ll be ecstatic seeing the EDC signs on other shuttles, cabs and maybe even some billboards. After you’ve gotten off the plane and picked up your luggage just look for the exits and you’ll spot the booths to buy a round trip pass. Lost? Just ask anyone, they’ll direct you.

The most recent price list I found is as follows:

Strip Hotels – $7.00 one-way; $13.00 round trip
Downtown Hotels – $8.50 one-way; $15.00 round trip
Off-Strip Hotels – $8.50 one-way; $15.00 round trip

You can buy an airport shuttle pass ahead of time by visiting http://www.airlineshuttlecorp.com/

Do some math, if there’s four of you arriving and leaving at the same time a $20 cab ride may be the best way to go. If there’s only two people a round trip airport shuttle is cheaper. Just don’t lose your return pass in your hotel room or you’ll end up paying again!

Renting a car? Once you get outside of the airport just look for the shuttle with the car company name on it and they’ll take you away to where the rental cars are a few miles away.
