Kaskade Named America’s Best DJ 2013

Kaskade has won the honors of being named America’s Best DJ for the year 2013 beating out other popular names such as Diplo, Skrillex, Bassnectar, Steve Aoki and Porter Robinson. Kaskade just released his album “Atmosphere” this week and continues to be a voice in the electronic music community. There’s no question the passion he has for his work and fans. Kaskade also won the award in 2011.

In a release Kaskade said:

“Words can’t do justice to how completely grateful I am to receive this honor for a second time. I am constantly in awe of the love, encouragement and energy I receive from my fan-base, which has continued to inspire and motivate me throughout my career. I feel connected to them in such a real way and their support is something that keeps rocking my world. I couldn’t do this without them.”

The DJ Mag Top 100 is the biggest popularity contest around the world for DJs but in the United States there is DJ Times Magazine which nominates 100 DJs and fans vote for their favorites from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The nominations are based on American DJs, not everyone from anywhere in the world. One of the simple rules is that no one can win two years in a row which keeps it fresh. Markus Schulz won it last year in 2012.
