Insomniac Announces EDC Las Vegas Dates and Ticket Info

The day has finally arrived for Insomniac to officially announce information for Electric Daisy Carnival 2014 in Las Vegas and just as we reported in mid October the festival will be held from June 20 through 22 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the fourth year in a row. It also marks the return of EDC Week which runs from June 17 through 24. EDC Week begins on the Tuesday prior to the festival and features pool parties, club events, the EDM Biz Conference and new this year will be the dance music awards show. Last year Insomniac announced a partnership with Dick Clark Productions for the awards show.

The most important detail is the ticket sales. The tickets will be going on sale on November 25 for people who’d purchased tickets last year and then another early bird sale on December 2. The first date is exclusive presale for those who purchased tickets in 2011, 2012 or 2013. The special pre-sale on November 25 will run for 24 hours and to obtain your code visit www.flavorus.com and login with your account and you’ll likely see a banner saying that your 2014 code is coming soon. You can purchase up to four tickets and they state that any additional orders placed with the same code and email address will be automatically cancelled.

Tickets for 2014 will be $249 for general admission and $499 for VIP for those over 21. A layaway pricing option will be available for all on-sale dates. Single day tickets will not be sold.

Here’s some tips about tickets:

Chances are you read one of our 82 ProTips leading up to the festival last year and also found an EDC Week event on our calendar listing. We already started a post for EDC Week 2014 that can be bookmarked. Details of those events won’t start being released until late April 2014 but it’s never too early to be prepared.

The festival attracts 115,000 headliners every night for three straight nights and is one of the largest festivals in the world. The festival runs until 5:30 AM as the sun is rising above the desert mountains.

More on the awards show:

“Creating an award show focused on all the creative components that contribute to the success of dance music (music, art, production and lighting) has been a dream of mine for years,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac. “Partnering with dick clark productions was an easy decision given their experience producing the Golden Globes and the American Music Awards. I’m confident that our partnership will create an event that is focused on recognizing creativity without politics, and that it will celebrate all the elements that go into making dance music such a beautiful experience for the fans.”

“EDM is the fastest growing segment of the music industry, encompassing recorded music, live events and lifestyle.  It’s truly international,” said Allen Shapiro, CEO of dick clark productions.   “DCP is the largest producer of music awards shows in the industry and Insomniac has been at the forefront of the EDM movement since they started in 1993.  Creating an EDM awards show with Insomniac is the perfect collaboration.”
