Insomniac Records LogoLAS VEGAS, May 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Insomniac CEO and founder Pasquale Rotella announced today a new partnership with Interscope Geffen A&M to create Insomniac Records.

Pairing two of the top companies in their respective fields, Insomniac Records looks to combine the music business knowledge of Interscope with the over 20 years of expertise Insomniac has producing some of the largest dance music events in the world.

“Interscope and Insomniac formed Insomniac Records because we saw the need for a label that fosters the unique talents of dance music artists while also giving them a powerful platform to share their music with fans around the world,” said Pasquale Rotella, founder and CEO of Insomniac. “The Interscope team has an unparalleled track record of success and I believe that with our combined efforts, Insomniac Records is going to launch the careers of undiscovered artists while also attracting established producers allowing them to create music that the fans will love.”

“Interscope’s core is built on finding great talent at the forefront of music whether it’s artists, producers, or executives,” said John Janick, COO and President of Interscope Geffen A&M.  “Pasquale and Insomniac have built and nurtured an amazing culture and we’re excited to be a part of it.”

The first official EDM Label at Interscope, Insomniac Records will be home to many of the future EDM acts at Interscope. Producer/DJ “Arty” will be the first artist signed to the new label, and promises a full-length album coming later this year. He posted a teaser of his forthcoming single, “Up All Night” featuring Angel Taylor, on his SoundCloud today. More than 1 million fans attended Insomniac’s events in 2013 alone, including club shows, concerts and large-scale music festivals like the largest electronic music festival in the world, the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas which hosted more than 345,000 fans over 3-days last year, In addition to EDC Las Vegas the company creates dozens of music festivals and experiences annually, including Nocturnal Wonderland, Escape from Wonderland, and the all-white New Years Eve festival, White Wonderland.

Pasquale Rotella had this to say:

“Headliners, I’m grateful and excited about our label partnership with Interscope Records! This has been a longtime dream, and in many ways a natural progression to the Discovery Project. I’m also honored that this project is to be Interscope’s first official dance music label. To be a part of their amazing legacy is one for the Insomniac history books!

Insomniac Records will be dedicated to fostering the unique talents of a select group of artists, and giving them a powerful platform on which to share their music with fans around the world. I remember the first time I heard Human Resource’s “Dominator” blasting out of the speakers at an L.A. underground party. Watching the dancefloor explode and seeing people react with such positive energy was a huge moment for me, and I hope we can create similar moments for people around the world. This is about discovering and sharing good, quality music that represents all of the diverse, passionate and enthusiastic creators that fuel our community.

In order to accomplish this goal, we need to be accessible to producers of every size, whether they’re making beats in their bedroom or have already performed in front of tens of thousands of fans. If you send in music, we will listen. Our amazing team is hard at work building our roster, and we are wide open to any genre of dance music—everything from underground sounds to big room bangers will be in rotation.

To kick things off, I am very excited to announce that ARTY will be the first artist signed to Insomniac Records! Who will be next? Comment with your recommendations, and if you’re a music creator, submit your music at www.insomniacrecords.com.

We’re looking forward to a long and promising future of dance music discovery.”
