Recap: Summer Set Music Festival 2014 Day 3

We chose to bypass the official event parking again yesterday, as the line was too long again. I’m under the impression that if you don’t get there before 3 pm you won’t get a decent chance at parking. After parking we rushed to the Big Top Stage to catch Myon and Shane 54. Dropping hits like “If I Fall”, their remix of “Summertime Sadness”, and “Strangers” got the crowd moving. Up after was Green Velvet, who impressed us with his tech beats.

We headed over to the Main Stage for the rest of the night, beginning with Flying Lotus. People were grooving out to his hip-hop inspired beats all over the grassy areas and dance floor. Closing out the night was Bassnectar, bringing us back from the chilled out set prior to his. Bassnectar’s set was not only high energy, but also included some remixes that blew my mind. Unfortunately the festival had to end at some point, but I wished it would have at least ended a bit closer to midnight! Stay tuned for the full festival recap coming in when I return back home.
