We arrived at Beyond Wonderland Bay Area at around 3 pm, just in time to get settled and catch Donald Glaude drop arguably one of the best house sets I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing.
After Glaude we headed over to the main stage to catch Paul Oakenfold. Splitting the next few hours we caught bits and pieces of Oliver Heldens, Destructo, and ETC! ETC!, each of which were a ton of fun and had plenty of good vibes. During this time we heard that DJ Snake was sick and wouldn’t be able to make his closing set of the night.
After grabbing a bite to eat from one of the food carts (get the chicken sliders, they’re amazing), we headed to Mat Zo. His set was awesome, we danced and danced until heading to catch an hour of GTA, who dropped a new track at the end of his set. Above & Beyond was my closer for the night, but some of my group ventured over to see who would replace DJ Snake. Apparently there were four DJs on stage, two of which were Crizzly and 12th Planet.
I stayed throughout Above & Beyond for the uplifting and emotional ride they took us on running through some of their new hits but also classics. All in all tonight was a great night, the new stage setup for the venue allowed for easy movement between stages, and I even got to meet Donald Glaude in VIP during Mat Zo’s set, I can’t wait for tomorrow!
