The second day of Summer Set Music Festival, and somewhat cooler weather, were upon us. We arrived to the venue around 4pm, making it in time for me to see Bakermat and the rest of my group to go see Lizzo. The main stage around that time is brutally hot, so it was good that the Smirnoff Rendezvous tent had complimentary sunscreen. I grabbed a drink and chilled out for a bit until Jauz came on stage. I shockingly had never never seen Jauz play a set before even though he had been at Hard Summer and other events I had attended.
Lineup changes happened, apparently Rae Sremmurd got bumped out of their main stage set and replaced by The Weeknd. Carnage was on and I was so far from being interested in his set that I left for the Big Top to catch the next three sets. Brillz, then Tchami, and finally Shiba San killed all of their sets and drew huge numbers to the Big Top.
My group and I trekked back up to the main stage to catch the Summer Set Music Festival staple, Big Gigantic. Having performed at every year, these guys drew a massive crowd to their set. The party didn’t end after their set though, as we headed to the second after party at The Grove featuring Tone Loc and The Floozies. After vibing out for a bit down there we headed back to the apartment to relax and recharge, anticipating a great set from Deadmau5 on Sunday!!
