EDC Orlando 2015: Day 1 Recap

Day one EDC Orlando was out of this world! The general admission line to get in moved very quickly without any major flaws. The set up and layout of the festival had a decent flow. I began my day at the main stage which was basically a scaled-down version of the EDC Las Vegas Crystal Village main stage. After hanging out for a while at this stage I ventured to Circuit Grounds. This stage was every bit impressive as the full-scale version at EDC Las Vegas. The lighting and CO2 cannons were on point. I caught some of the Snails’ set, which was pretty amazing when combined with the incredible sound system and lighting. Then I headed over to my favorite stage of the day Neon Garden. As many of you know I am a huge trance fan, so this is where I spent most of my time. My wife Maria and I begin our day here seeing Jason Ross. Having never heard him before I was unsure of what to expect, but boy did he deliver. After his set Ben Gold took the stage. Hands-down this was one of my favorite sets of the day, the energy was insane. Ilan Bluestone followed with a very Anjuna styled set that contained many classics and new bangers towards the end. This set was definitely a highlight. Mr. Full On himself, Ferry Corsten, took the stage and the night really took off. He is always a showstopper anytime and I see him live and this experience was no different! The lighting and lasers came alive during his time on stage which put the icing on the cake. Up until this date I had never seen Paul van Dyk perform live. It is really impressive how much he does on stage and I found myself standing there with Maria just staring at PvD numerous times as he made magic in front of us. Truly extraordinary! To end the day one of my personal favorites, Simon Patterson took to the CDJs with PSY trance. The energy at the stage completely erupted into a dance frenzy. I would have to say that day one was a complete success and I cannot wait to see what day two brings!
