Today’s protip is about helping each other out and that’s something that can be interpreted in different ways. The thing to remember is that we’re all at Electric Daisy Carnival to have a great time and that happens by all of us having fun together. This also doesn’t mean that you have to babysit others or have your adventure interrupted by dealing with someone else’s problems.
See someone that doesn’t look like they’re doing too well? Take a moment to ask if they are ok. A simple question could help snap someone out of a funk that they are in. If they’re sick look for someone from Ground Control to help them out.
If someone asks you for water and you know where the closest refill station is point them in that direction. Be cautious and don’t ever take a drink from strangers and recommend they don’t take drinks from strangers. Unfortunately the world isn’t perfect and there’s still a few people with bad intentions.
If you see someone crying and it isn’t obvious tears of happiness ask them if they need anything. You don’t have to be someones counselor for hours but it could be that they’re lost or just not having a good time. Invite them to join your group and have some fun.
Notice a phone, wallet, credit card, drivers license, passport or anything else important on the ground take a moment to pick it up and go and turn it into the lost and found. Insomniac does an amazing job of getting items back to their owners, you’ll notice the long lines each morning from people trying to find things. Someone losing their identification on the first night will impact the rest of their trip.
These are just a few simple things that will only take a couple of minutes out of your night and have a positive impact on someone else’s experience! The obvious catch is to not let yourself get completely caught up in other peoples problems but it’s the little things we can all help each other with.
