EDC Vegas ProTip #65 Bring a WiFi Router to Share Your Rooms Connection

It’s safe to say that your room will not have WiFi and you and your friends will be stuck without internet on your phones while in your room. There’ll be a wired connection for one computer if someone brings a laptop but that’s it. How do you fix that? Bring a WiFi router with you!

Assuming you know what you’re doing it’s pretty simple. All you have to do is set it to bridge mode, make sure it’s secure, plug in the wired connection and share. You may get a 3G or 4G signal in your hotel room depending on who your cell phone provider is but don’t count on it, just like you can’t count on cell service at the festival. We’re all addicted to our phones and will want to share our adventures with the world and this tip is pretty easy. Just make sure that it is secure so you aren’t providing a connection to the rooms around you!

You can either bring your router from home along with you or another recommendation is this small router that’s only $29.99 on NewEgg.com (I make nothing from this, just an honest recommendation).

TP Link Router

There’ll probably be some debate about this one but if you’ll be sharing a room with others and you’re a geek and know how to do it you should go for it.
