EDC Vegas ProTip #33 Expect a Thorough Search

This should go without saying but you’ll get searched because there’s a lot of things that people will try and get inside that are illegal. I didn’t plan to discuss this but a lot of people have been asking so I figured it’d be time to touch on the subject since security will be touching us.

I’m not going to give you the answers you’re looking for on how to sneak things in that are on the list of prohibited items. What I will tell you is that you should expect a thorough search. Girls should expect to get their bra’s lifted and even looked in. Guys can expect to get their groin area searched and touched. You may need a cigarette after you’ve gone through the search and molestation.

You may think, “they can’t do that!” You’re probably right but there’s also an old rave term called “ROAR” that used to be on every flyer and still stands today, right of admission refusal. Good luck trying to say no to a search and still being let in.

You’ll have to empty your pockets, fanny packs, camelbak or regular backpack that you may be bringing in. They may ask you to take off your sneakers and they might not. Make it easy for security by having those things emptied when you get to them. There’ll be a table for you to set things down on so you’re not stuck holding it all in your hand. Make it easy for security and they’ll make it quick and easy for you!

I was thoroughly examined every night where as others said they were barely touched. One thing to keep in mind is ProTip #44 DON’T FEAR THE K9 UNIT VAN.

So after all of that you might be thinking, “how do I get my drugs or light gloves in?” You don’t, those things are prohibited! Yup. They sure are.

About the ProTips: I’ve been counting down the days until Electric Daisy Carnival with a tip a day until the day of the festival. There’ll be more to come after this one and you can view ALL of them here.
