As you look through previous tips that have been written you’ll see ones that say cell phone service will stink, stay off of your phone, don’t use your phone, don’t bring your phone but we’re all going to use them so we may as well be prepared.
One of the downsides to poor cell phone coverage is that everything becomes delayed and slow, including text messages. They may appear to send immediately from your phone but the congestion in all of the networks will cause them to be delayed. They all may go through right away, just one may go through, they may go through out of order or they may not go through at all.
We’ll all be sending random texts of “OMG SO AND SO IS KILLING IT” or “Wow this is amazing” and those aren’t all that important.
There’ll be important messages saying to meet you at a certain spot or you’re leaving one stage to go to another at a time. You may want to say where you’ll be sitting down and relaxing somewhere. The one thing you don’t want to do is waste your time on a wild chase trying to track someone down and you keep missing them. When time passes or you don’t get something just reply back with another time.
It can be very easy to keep missing someone because of time delays and distractions as you wander which is why time stamps can be so important. Messages will be delayed and there’ll be times you just won’t look at your phone so you won’t see messages until a long time after it was received. Another possibility is that your phone is off so you’ll never know the real time it was sent when you turn it back on.
Time stamp, time stamp, time stamp!
