Bad Batch of Synthetic Marijuana Blamed for Over 60 Hospitalized

The electronic music community has been in serious discussions with one and another over the past two days about the current state of the scene along with safety issues related to drugs. Much of the discussion is related to “molly” but as the article below points out there’s other dangers as well. We all need to look at the bigger picture and make sure there’s education about all of it.

Authorities in Colorado believe a bad batch of synthetic marijuana combined with a Phish concert is responsible for the hospitalization of more than 60 people over the past week.

Denver and Colorado Springs-area hospitals first started noticing more patients being admitted to the emergency room suffering from a bad reaction to the drug ‘Black Mamba’ last Tuesday.

But that number grew to more than 60 over the Labor Day weekend, corresponding with a three-day Phish concert at Dick’s Sporting Goods Stadium in Denver.

The article goes on to report patients being admitted screaming, violent, out of control, unresponsive and others having seizures with some patients on life support or in coma’s. It didn’t help that it was extremely hot out either.

Discussions everywhere (including here) will continue which is a great thing because everyone needs to be careful, cautious and educated on what’s being consumed.
