2014 ProTip #25: Removing a Wristband You Put on Too Early

As you receive your ticket package and shuttle wristband in the mail there’ll be excitement to just put it on and raise your hand in the air in victory but we suggest you wait. Do you really want to be wearing it for another three weeks? What if you put it on too tight?

Unless it’s already too late.

There’s some ways you can remove the wristband if you’ve put it on too tight or just want to take it off but you’ll also want to be careful that you don’t damage it.

The wristbands are held in place by some teeth within the plastic and the easiest way to remove it is to insert a straw to loosening the teeth and slide the fabric out. Like this:

That’s your best bet to try and remove them. There’s also videos on YouTube with steps as well explaining how you can try and remove a wristband but those are all for different kinds that have a round type connector. The videos show how you can twist the fabric which should also loosen the teeth.

What if you break the wristband? Stop by the will call table and hope they’ll be kind enough to give you another one.

Easiest thing to do is wait until you put it on and don’t put it on too tight!
