TomorrowWorld 2015: DJs I’m Excited to See

It’s finally time! It seems like forever since I accidentally bought my TomorrowWorld ticket. In a few short hours, I will embark on my virgin journey into Dreamville: a land of unknown. Just like my accidental ticket purchase, my unpreparedness is strong. Yesterday was (also) the first time I really studied the lineup. I have gazed at it a few days before, but that was only to skim for big names. So after staring into my tiny Droid phone screen, with my dry contacts, on a cramped Southwest plane, I have accumulated a short list of DJs I really want to see.

M.I.K.E. Push

M.I.K.E. Push is the man. I have caught him a few times in San Francisco, but have never seen him at a festival. I wonder if his festival stuff would be different than his club stuff. I’m pretty sure it will be, but who knows. Nevertheless, it’s great to see a Coldharbour Recordings DJ on the lineup. I’m sure whatever style he chooses to play from, festival or club or one of his plethoras of aliases, he’s going to blow my mind with some hard hitting trance!

Mark Sixma

I don’t know too much about this Dutch trance DJ (born in the same town as Tiesto), his name only came up in passing. He recently released a collaboration with Andrew Rayel and has been featured on Armin’s show, A State of Trance, a few times. So this inclined me to put Sixma on the list of DJs I want to see. Upon listening to a recent liveset Soundcloud, I heard the classic gem, Sandstrom! Now the inner 16-year-old in me is starving to see him live . . . oh, and his productions are great as well.

Ferry Corsten

Ferry Corsten is a legend! He is also Markus Schulz’s Punx partner in crime. I’ve seen Corsten numerous of times in clubs and at festivals… but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited to see him! Not to mention, there will be a Full On stage, Friday, where Corsten will be hosting his own arsenal of DJs. My trance pants will be on and my ears can finally hear his recent Gouryella project live (Gouryella is an alias that was originally composed of him and Tiesto). The first day of TomorrowWorld is going to open up with a BANG!

Sam Feldt

Feldt is another DJ whose name I only recognize in passing. I’ve only recently became interested in his music when I Shazamed a song, while working at Abercrombie, and learned that it was his own version of “Show Me Love”. This definitely sparked my interest in Feldt. Judging from his mixes from Youtube, I can assume that Feldt style is one that will be deep and groovy. It’s different than other DJs I want to see, but I’m sure the change of pace will be welcomed and well needed.

Well, this is my short list of DJs I want to see at TomorrowWorld. Of course I am excited to see other DJs, such as Showtek, Thomas Gold, Orjan Nilsen and many many more. Despite my favorite DJ not in attendance (he will be at Beyond Wonderland), this is a huge weekend for music, and I don’t want to miss any of it.
