EDC New York: Memorial Day Weekend Kicks off Start of Summer Festivals

It’s the end of the Memorial Day weekend and the 4th annual EDC New York 2015 has come to a close. Over 100,000 headliners spent their holiday weekend at MetLife Stadium experiencing 70 top artists across five stages, enjoying epic views of the festival grounds from four other full-scale carnival rides, relaxing in the peace and tranquility of a 10-foot tall Buddha figure or lounging in the Dandelion Forest art installation.

The colossal kineticCATHEDRAL stage which debuted at EDC Las Vegas 2014, made its way to EDC New York  for the first time this year. Made of over 300 tons of steel, the 90 foot stage featured two signature Insomniac owls and massive LED screen panels that created the illusion of detailed stained glass windows, captivating fans throughout the weekend. If you managed to make your way on to ferris wheel you could get a birds-eye view of this massive mainstage kineticCATHEDRAL.

New this year was 7UP’s Live It Up Deck, a three-story structure offering headliners complimentary soft drinks, phone charging stations and a beautiful, heightened view of the kineticCATHEDRAL each night as the five-minute fireworks display boomed overhead.

This year Insomniac’s EDC New York ticket sales will support two amazing local charities located in the NY/NJ area – City Green, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping establish urban farms and gardens in northern New Jersey, and A Broader Way Foundation which offers girls from urban communities in NYC an outlet for self-expression and creativity through arts-centered programs. As part of Insomniac’s Charitable Giving Initiative, $1 per ticket transaction and $10 per guest list attendee will be donated to these incredible organizations.
