On March 1st I had the pleasure of attending Above & Beyond’s ‘We Are All We Need’ tour in Atlanta at The Tabernacle. Having Seen this amazing melodic trance group before, I was excited to see what they were going to do for the Atlanta crowd. The show exceeded my expectations and I left the venue with a feeling of pure joy.

The doors to the venue opened at 7 pm on Sunday night. By 8 pm when 16 Bit Lolitas began, you could tell that the wait was long enough and the smiles began appearing all over the faces of the crowd. His build within the 2 hour opening time slot was on point. A slow and steady increase all the way to the very end.  It was a great feeling seeing how well the crowd reacted to this set and you could tell Ariaan Olieroock of 16 Bit Lolitas was so joyous. The pure happiness written all over his face was so clear to see. After the amazing crescendo toward the end of his set it was time for Tony and Jono of Above & Beyond to hit the stage.

This stage exploded with light when these two musical geniuses hit the stage and so did the crowd. This was literally one of the best crowd reactions I have ever seen. Right out of the gate the duo came out strong and on point. The two hours following was one of the most magical experiences I have had at any recent show. The love and emotion that these two had for each and every person in the venue was so impressive. While watching them DJ it was almost as if they were trying to make eye contact and have a personal moment with each. The structure of their mixes and the choices of tracks were truly “Above & Beyond” what anyone could have imagined.

Towards the end of their set, Jono came out from behind the CDJs and walked along the front of the stage looking into the crowd. The Tabernacle erupted with the anticipation of who was going to “Push the Button”. After a few swoops of the crowd, one lucky person was chosen to join the trance legends on stage. Tony ran around to the front of the booth to put the sole attention on their fan, while Jono took her phone and recorded it. This had to be an experience of a lifetime for her and these two made it extra special.

Not only is Above and Beyond a world-class music group they are also amazing people! I had the pleasure of meeting Tony before the show outside of a local restaurant. He was one of the most kind individuals I have met. He joking around with us and took some photos all while shooting the breeze as if we had been friends for years. This show was a showcase of the best and the crowd was right there with them. When this tour comes to a town near you this is one you don’t want to miss.

Check out these photos I was able to take while at The Tabernacle.
