This is a big one to remember: Ground Control is there for YOU! They are there to keep you happy, healthy and hydrated. The goal is to go to Electric Daisy Carnival to have an amazing time but life can take a turn for whatever reason and if it does and you need help make sure to look for someone in a purple shirt. They aren’t cops or security that most people typically get paranoid around. They are people just like the rest of us that have volunteered time to be there for us.

They say it better themselves, read on.

About Ground Control from their Facebook page:

You can find us rocking our purple tanks, fanny packs and light swords at music and art festivals produced by Insomniac Events! Stay Happy, Healthy & Hydrated at Electric Daisy Carnival, Beyond Wonderland and Nocturnal Wonderland… just to name a few!

Mission
Stay Happy, Healthy & Hydrated! ♥

Description
Our family of volunteers exists to ensure that everyone who attends an Insomniac Events Massive Festival has a safe and memorable experience.

Please approach any of our team members if you want assistance or simply need a friend! We all strongly believe in the beauty and power of helping others… We are a buddy system and will kindly offer our support in any given situation.

Ground Control was founded following Electric Daisy Carnival, Los Angeles 2010. It is a grassroots movement of proactive and approachable, young adults attempting to spread peace, love, unity and respect to all attendees at Music & Art Festivals.

Here’s a recent post that Ground Control made on the EDC reddit page where they say it best:

I’m posting to all the EDC attendees regarding the Ground Control team. We are individuals rocking purple tanks with angel wings on the back. We are actually volunteers and are NOT in any way affiliated with the police. Our motto is “HAPPY, HEALTHY, HYDRATED” and we are there to help BETTER your EDC experience.

We basically walk around the EDC grounds giving out bottles of water and, in case of an emergency, we will escort you to the medical tents. Please, if you need ANY medical assistance, go to the medical tents. The medics will send people to the hospital, but that is only for extreme cases.

If we see you sleeping at EDC, it is our duty to wake you up just to make sure you’re ok. We’re sorry to ruin your moment of rest, but please understand why these measures are necessary =)

We are not only there to help but are there to have fun! You’ll see us dancing and talking to festival attendees. If you see one of us volunteer team members, feel free to stop by, chat, and dance with us: WE LOVE IT! You’ll probably see us without the ground control uniform on a different festival day just enjoying the entire event.

Basically, please don’t run away from us! We are just volunteering festival attendees. If you have any questions regarding volunteering, visit the facebook ground control insomniac page =)
