I’ve talked about chap stick, lockers, shuttle passes, club events, pool parties and more so now it’s time to talk about an import part of the experience, the sunrise. This may take a lot of effort depending on your endurance and level of partying but I can promise you that it’ll be a moment that’ll live with you for the rest of your life. It could be considered a sad moment on the final morning as the party comes to an end but it’s a great time to start counting down until EDC 2014.
As the sun rises over the mountains in Nevada and the best music in the world is playing you’ll just be looking around smiling and happy that you’ve made it. The electric sky turns into a blue sky with a hot fireball burning down on your tired and sweaty body but it’s a moment to really take it all in and realized you’ve gone the distance. The sky will start turning light after 5AM with the sunrise at approximately 5:24AM which is enough time to take it all in before the music turns off at 5:30AM.
Here’s a view from the VIP area of the Circuit Grounds stage in 2012.
With so many stages there’s likely to be a genre of music playing that you love so find that spot and dance into the morning. If you’re too tired just relax and listen and take it all in. If you really want to just take it all in and relax head over to Cosmic Meadow and take a sit in the stands.
Prepare your sun glasses for the long walk back to the shuttle bus and then close your eyes and take a nap on the way back to the strip.
Here’s a video of Aly & Fila playing towards the final moments of Electric Daisy Carnival 2012 as the sun was beginning to light up the sky.
You can see the sky beginning to light up here as Fedde Le Grand closed out the main stage of EDC 2012.
